Related Product Information for anti-Cre antibody
This antibody recognizes the recombinase protein, CRE. CRE is a 343 amino acid protein. The Cre enzyme, belongs to a member of a large family of recombinases, recognizes loxP which is a sequence motif of 34 bp from the PI bateriophage. Cre and lox comprise the Cre/lox system which was first developed in the late 1980 to artificially manipulate gene expression. As an example, mice with the Cre protein expressing in a specific cell type are bred with mice that contain a target gene surrounded by loxP sites. When the mice are bred, the cells carrying Cre will cause those cells to lose the target gene. If the Cre gene is, for example, bound to a promoter that only allows Cre production in neuronal cells, the target gene will be deleted only in those cells. This has led to its application in many experiments, for example in selectively labeling neuronal cells in the brain thereby differentiating them from other types of surrounding cells.

Product Notes

The Cre top1 (Catalog #AAA78335) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Cre reacts with Cre/lox Systems and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Cre can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IP (Immunoprecipitation), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Cre top1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cre, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
