Related Product Information for anti-UGP2 antibody
Uridine diphosphate-glucose pyrophosphorylase 2 (UGP2), a key enzyme in glycogen biosynthesis, is associated with the occurrence and development of various cancer types. UDP-glucose (UDP-Glc) is synthesized by UGP2-encoded UDP-Glc pyrophosphorylase (UGP) and is required for glycoconjugate biosynthesis and galactose metabolism because it is a uridyl donor for galactose-1-P (Gal1P) uridyltransferase. Chinese hamster lung fibroblasts harboring a hypomrphic UGP(G116D) variant display reduced UDP-Glc levels and cannot grow if galactose is the sole carbon source. UGP2 may contribute to the progression of HCC, indicating a potential therapeutic target for HCC patients. The high content of UGP2 in Rendement Napole (RN) mutant animals may contribute to high glycogen storage. The rice (Oryza sativa) genome contains two homologous UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase (UGPase) genes, Ugp1 and Ugp2.

Product Notes

The UGP2 (Catalog #AAA256663) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-UGP2 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's UGP2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, IP (Immunoprecipitation), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), WB (Western Blot). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the UGP2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "UGP2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
