3B3
Specificity
Clone 3B3 is an antibody highly specific for alpha-skeletal actin, and does not cross react with other actin isoforms.
Form/Format
Each vial contains 100 ul 1 mg/ml purified monoclonal antibody in PBS containing 0.09% sodium azide.
Applicable Applications for anti-ACTA1 antibody
WB (Western Blot), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), IB (Immunoblot), ELISA
Source Note
3B3 is a Mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody derived by fusion of NS0 Mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a BALB/c Mouse immunized with a peptide comprising the N-terminal nonapeptide of alpha-skeletal actin with an acetylated N-terminus (Ac-DEDETTALVC-COOH) coupled to keyhole limpet hemocyanin through the cysteine residue.
Reactivity Note
The epitope recognized by alpha-SM1 is highly conserved. The antibody therefore cross-reacts with many species including protochordates, lower craniates and mammals.
Product Type
Primary Antibody
Preparation and Storage
The antibody is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4°C. For prolonged storage prepare appropriate aliquots and store at or below -20°C. Prior to use, an aliquot is thawed slowly in the dark at ambient temperature, spun down again and used to prepare working dilutions by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. Working dilutions should be stored at +4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance or the concentration of the product.
Related Product Information for anti-ACTA1 antibody
Among the six actin isoforms described in mammals, two are found in virtually all cells (beta- and gamma-cytoplasmic), two are detected in smooth muscle cells (alpha- and gamma-smooth muscle) and two are present in striated muscles, one predominantly in skeletal (alpha-skeletal) and one in cardiac (alpha-cardiac) muscle cells. These actin isoforms differ slightly in their N-terminus, but the sequence of each of these actins is highly conserved in higher vertebRates. Skeletal alpha-actin may also be expressed in the mammalian heart. Although during the late stage of fetal development alpha-cardiac actin becomes the main isoform in the myocardium, alpha-skeletal actin might still make up for almost half of its total striated muscle actin content.

Product Notes
The ACTA1 acta1 (Catalog #AAA77514) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse anti actin alpha-skeletal reacts with Caprine, Human, Rabbit, Rat, Swine. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's actin alpha-skeletal can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB (Western Blot), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), IHC (Immunohistochemistry), IB (Immunoblot), ELISA. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ACTA1 acta1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "actin alpha-skeletal, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
