Principle of the assay: human TIMP-4 ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from mouse specific for TIMP-4 has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards(sf21, C30-P224) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for TIMP-4 is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the human TIMP-4 amount of sample captured in plate.
Background: Tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 4, also called Metalloproteinase inhibitor 4, is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the TIMP4 gene. This gene belongs to the TIMP gene family. The proteins encoded by this gene family are inhibitors of the matrix metalloproteinases, a group of peptidases involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix. This gene is mapped to 3p25.2. The secreted, netrin domain-containing protein encoded by this gene is involved in regulation of platelet aggregation and recruitment and may play role in hormonal regulation and endometrial tissue remodeling.

Product Notes
The Human TIMP4 timp4 (Catalog #AAA46005) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA46005 ELISA Kit recognizes Human TIMP4. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TIMP-4, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
