Product Notes

The CD11b itgam (Catalog #AAA11882) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CD11b can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FCM/FACS (Flow Cytometry). Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells or 100ul whole blood Flow Cytometry: Minimum Dilution: Neat; Maximum Dilution: 1/10. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD11b itgam for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD11b, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Mouse CD11b Monoclonal Antibody used for?

The Mouse CD11b Monoclonal Antibody is used to identify and study myeloid-lineage cells, including macrophages, monocytes, neutrophils, and a subset of NK cells. It targets the Integrin alpha-M (CD11b) subunit of the Mac-1 receptor, making it a standard tool for immunophenotyping and investigating leukocyte-mediated immune responses.

How does CD11b antibody help in immune cell research?

This antibody helps in immune cell research by allowing scientists to quantify and isolate specific leukocyte populations. CD11b is involved in critical processes like cell adhesion, migration across the endothelium, and phagocytosis. Using this antibody, researchers can study how these cells respond to inflammation, infection, and tissue damage in various biological contexts.

Which techniques can detect CD11b with this antibody?

The most common technique for detecting CD11b with this antibody is Flow Cytometry (FCM/FACS), which is ideal for analyzing cell surface expression. It is also suitable for Immunohistochemistry (IHC) on frozen tissue sections and immunofluorescence (IF). These methods allow for both the quantification of cell populations and the visualization of their distribution in tissues.

What are the benefits of using a monoclonal CD11b antibody?

Using a monoclonal CD11b antibody from AAA Biotech ensures high specificity for the CD11b antigen, which is essential for accurate cell gating in flow cytometry. Monoclonal antibodies provide consistent results across experiments and have minimal cross-reactivity, allowing researchers to distinguish CD11b-positive cells from other similar cell types within a complex sample.

How should Mouse CD11b Monoclonal Antibody be stored and handled?

The antibody should be stored at 4°C, particularly if it is conjugated to fluorescent dyes like FITC or RPE, as freezing can damage the conjugate. Conjugated antibodies are photosensitive and must be kept in the dark. For unconjugated forms, -20°C may be preferred for long-term storage. Always avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

What factors should be considered when selecting a CD11b antibody?

Researchers should consider the host species and clone of the antibody (e.g., clone ICRF44 for human or M1/70 for mouse). The choice of conjugation, such as FITC, PE, or APC - depends on the available lasers in your flow cytometer. Additionally, ensuring the antibody is validated for your specific application, like flow cytometry or IHC, is crucial for obtaining reliable data.
